In the public school Jamal was a average student and he spent most of his time playing basketball. He never really was himself but he did do some things that he really liked. When he went to the private school he wasn't afraid to be himself and show his intelligence. How do his friends from the public school feel about this? How would you feel if your friend did this? Even though Jamal discovered his individuality through private school, I believe that private schools promote conformity. In a private school there is uniforms so everyone looks the same. And at the same time every one at that school was smart so its kind of hard to be different. Some students starve for attention at that school and would do anything they could to get the spotlight. Even though Private schools can be good they just produce copies of the same people. They are all taught the same way look the same way and act the same way. In a public school there is more options and people are allowed to be their own people and make their own decisions. In a public school there is more diversity so there is less racial profiling like in Finding Forrester.
